Well, 2010 is "just around the corner" and the GULF COAST SOONERS will spend the last afternoon of 2009 enjoying some great Sooner fellowship as the Crimson and Cream of Oklahoma takes on the Cardinal of Stanford in the Sun Bowl. (No - - that's NOT a mistake - - it's Cardinal, not Cardinals.) My schedule and the response to my last email sends our watch party back to Beef O'Brady's in Spanish Fort for the last watch party of this season. I hope you'll put your Sooner Spirit in "overdrive" and join us as we say goodbye to 09 and look forward to the 2010 version of our favorite team - - the OKLAHOMA SOONERS!!!

College football has never experienced a team more devastated by injuries than this year's Oklahoma Sooners - - multiple injuries to key players - - our Heisman winning QB, the best TE in the nation, our number one blocker, an inexperience OL line that could never really "jell" because injuries forced us to go with a different starting line up EVERY GAME, and - - need I say more!!!??? BUT - - - rather than continue with a long list of injuries - - - let's spend some time looking at a FANTASTIC RECRUITING SEASON.

With some Super Blue Chips still looking seriously at becoming Sooners - - our list of "verbals" sits at the very top of the college football world. Just a few days ago, two of the "tops in the nation" (from California) said "I'm a Sooner" - - Jefferson, a DB, considered by most recruiters to be the best athlete in the nation and Stills, a super fast WR, join their San Diego friend and great RB, Brennen Clay, as future Sooners. (Our class is loaded - - from "top to bottom.") I'll give you a lot more info as we meet for the Sun Bowl Watch Party. Of course, "verbals" are non-binding, but it's not often that we fail to sign a player that has given us a "verbal."
