It has just been confirmed that the Sooners have accepted the invitation to meet Stanford at 1:00pm on New Years eve in El Paso's Sun Bowl. Stanford is the only team to have beaten Pac 10 Champion, Oregon, and posted a blow out win over USC. They feature one of the leading candidates for the Heisman Trophy in RB, Toby Gerhart.
Begin now to make your plans to join to join the Gulf Coast Sooners for the last watch party of the 2009 football season. I welcome your comments in regard to your preference for the Sun Bowl Watch Party: What will it be: Beef O'Brady's in Tilman's Corner or Spanish Fort - - or - - in one of our homes with our folk bringing their favorite snack. I'll make notes on the emails I receive and the decision will be made in the next couple of weeks.
An interesting note on the Oklahoma State game - - The Sooners were without 8 starters and 4 of those were off our "already green" offensive line. The OSU Cowboys year after year are called "a team on the rise", however, for the 2010 season they lose 16 senior starters and will probably be known as "the team that has fallen and can't get up".
Let me hear from you regarding the location of the Sun Bowl Watch Party - - hoping to see you there. What a great way to end 2009!!!
