Just a brief note - - and a reminder that I need to call in reservations to secure our area at Beef O'Brady's for this Saturday's watch party.

At this time, our starting QB has not been named for the Baylor game, BUT - - be assured that every precaution will be made to protect Sam's well being. Hopefully, he will be approved to take some snaps during the game; I believe that will be important for our success against the Wronghorns the next week.

SO MANY TEAMS have suffered game changing injuries this year, HOWEVER - - I doubt if any team has lost more talent than the Sooners. Oklahoma State lost their top player, wide receiver Dez Bryant, for the season - - not to injury - - for an NCAA infraction. SO - - Texas appears to be our major hurdle toward another Big 12 Championship and a BCS bowl. (Of course, that is not really unusual.)

Hopefully, none of our Gulf Coast Sooners will waiver in their support of the 2009 Sooner team and will continue to gather at Beef O'Brady's through out the season. I was quite pleased with the number and enthusiasm of our group last week; sure beats watching games at home by yourself. I continually get comments from other patrons of the restaurant about the spirit of the Gulf Coast Sooners.

Kick off this Saturday is 2:30 and I have no idea about the competition we'll have for space. I appreciate, very much, those who let me know they are making plans to join us - - SO - - hit that reply button letting me know your plans.
