What a great way to finish our regular season by SMASHING our in-state, 12th ranked rival - - the OSU Cowboys!! Our Sooners did this with a "Patch Work" team - - using a lot of young players and an offensive line that NEVER had the same starting line up during the 2009 season. I'm sorry for all the injuries our guys experienced this year and wish the departing players the VERY BEST and the returning injured a quick recovery and a BIG "welcome back"!!!

For those who have negative feelings regarding our QB Landry Jones - - let me just quote our Head Coach, Bob Stoops: "To compare Sam's first year to Landry's is like comparing milk to orange juice - - Sam had an offensive line most of whom now draw an NFL paycheck and receivers named Iglesias, Johnson, and Kelly. Let's just say - - Jones did not." Jones will now have a bowl game and spring learning opportunities and, then, real competition from other QBs on our roster before next season.

Our coaches are busy on the recruiting trail this week with a great opportunity to close an already great recruiting class with other elite athletes. With what we already have on campus - - players that have game experience, a talented class of "redshirts", and incoming recruits - - even in a down year those who keep close watch on our Sooners can not help, but be excited. AIN'T IT GREAT TO BE A SOONER!!!???

NOW - - I need your understanding and comments!!! I've given my best effort in providing what YOU, as a Sooner fan, wanted! Beef O'Brady's in Spanish Fort and in Tilman's corner have given us exceptional service - - giving us their prime location and SOUND in every game. (Even over Bama and Auburn) We have not missed a game in over six years and, if I have my way, that will continue. The location of our watch parties was decided by your vote (or lack of it) and the move we made last week was for the benefit of Sooner fans in Mobile. (The same people showed!) HERE'S THE BIG CHANGE!!! I will continue my attempts to make certain The Gulf Coast Sooners have a place to watch every Sooner game! BUT - - the location of our watch parties will change from week to week: to one of our homes - - to Spanish Fort - - to Tilman's Corner - - to wherever - - and you will contact me - - if you want to be a part of our group!!! (We have a small committee of our "most faithful" that will decide location.) I will be emailing you Sooner info - - time and date of our watch parties - - BUT. not the location!!! Our Bowl Game has not yet been determined: who we will play, what bowl we will play in, the date of the bowl game, etc. - - I'll let you know all of that - - but NOT the location of the watch party - - unless you email me several days prior to the game saying you want to be a part. (Any of you that had rather not be receiving these emails - - let me know and I'll remove you from our list.)
